Challenge

The primary challenge with Wichita Center was to take a basic WordPress site—initially just another online placeholder—and transform it into a dynamic, accessible platform that resonates with a diverse community. Without a clear starting vision or robust infrastructure, there was a risk of creating something that failed to engage or serve the real needs of Wichita’s residents.

Additionally, we faced the hurdle of integrating modern frontend technologies like Vue and Angular with a traditional WordPress backend while ensuring the site remained intuitive for non-technical users. Balancing innovation with usability was critical to avoid alienating the very people we aimed to empower.

Solution

To address these challenges, I led the development of a customized WordPress platform infused with Vue and Angular components to create a seamless, interactive user experience.
